In this issue: We open the issue with Flash Thompson attending the funeral of his father. He spots Jack o Lantern from afar and Jack brazenly approaches Flash, telling him that he knows his secret identity and is royally screwed.
Flash goes on to meet with Jack's boss, Crime Master, who gives him a job much to Flash's dismay as the crime boss blackmails the current Venom to do his dirtywork for him in exchange for the safety of his family and girlfriend Betty Brant.
The next day, Flash meets up with his crew at Operation Rebirth and they witness firsthand Captain America officially announcing that the government decided to close down the project. Cap tries to look for the Venom bearer that he worked with during Spider Island only to find out that Venom has gone AWOL and escaped with the symbiote.
We see Flash trying to escape from the area but he is foiled by Captain America. The two fight for awhile before Venom lands a critical blow to Cap which leads him to fall to his death...
Only to be saved and dropped off by Venom who gets away.
When Captain America returns to the base he is shocked to find out that not only has Venom escaped but he manages to escape thanks to Captain America's own motorcycle.
